My love of horses began early, it seemed that I could never get enough of them. The 4-H program got me off to a good start with the help of terrific leaders and supportive parents. I never really considered doing anything other than training horses for a career but I also realized the value of a college education. Lamar Community College in Lamar, Colorado gave me the opportunity to earn a degree in Horse Training and Management so I worked hard and made the Dean's list every semester.

After college my real education in the horse world began. I spent a few years in California working with halter horses and learning the breeding end of the business. Back in Colorado I had the opportunity to work with Bergquist Quarter Horses and really learned a lot about riding and training reining horses. I was fortunate to help them build their horse program to include World Champions and Futurity Champions.

Before moving to Arizona in 1997 I managed the horse operation for Blue Valley Ranch in Kremmling, Colorado. This private guest ranch runs about 35 head of horses ranging from ponies to draft teams. In 2000 I started Two Bar Training, LLC here in Nutrioso and have been blessed with many great clients and wonderful horses ever since.

Over the years I have been fortunate to learn from many talented horsemen and many great horses. I have also enjoyed being a 4-H leader and giving a little something back to the program that gave so much to me. I like to think that Two Bar Training is the culmination of all these years of opportunity and experience. So, my goal is to offer a safe and positive environment to share what I have learned and to help people get the most from their experiences with horses.
